Why vote the List ULV? (SENATE ELECTION on 29.06., 8-18h, UNO-Saal/Hauptgebäude (Innrain, 1st floor)

What are we advocating for?

We advocate without compromise and with all our strength for all mid-level faculty members (Mittelbau) of the university and are an independent representation acting within the scope of the tasks and responsibilities of the Senate (§ 25 UG).

The following points are important to us:

  • to constitute a strong representation of your concerns with the stakeholders
  • to create teachable and studyable curricula
  • to regularly inform mid-level faculty on the work of the senate and on university-political concerns
  • to fight for a reduction of the workload of mid-level faculty
  • to enhance your possibilities of participation in the shaping of the university

Why vote for the "List ULV" of the University Teachers' Association (ULV) Innsbruck?

  1. The ULV Innsbruck is a party- and in every respect independent representation of interests at the University of Innsbruck. This means: We are not restricted in our thoughts, actions, and deeds by ULV Austria or by local ULV representations at other universities, nor are we obligated to any other third parties.
  2. We are organized as an association and are financed by the membership fees of our association members (the membership of Euro 30 per year includes legal protection insurance for matters arising from the service or employment relationship - for more details see https://www.ulv-innsbruck.org/de/content/rechtsschutzversicherung).
  3. Your added value: We are not only networked at the University of Innsbruck and the MUI but also Austria-wide with colleagues from other universities (or other ULV representations) (e.g. with senate chairpersons and deputy senate chairpersons and works council chairpersons). Therefore, we know what is being discussed or going on at other universities.
  4. ULV members of Austrian universities are in the negotiating team for salary negotiations and collective bargaining on the employees' side (vis-à-vis UNIKO/the so-called umbrella organization on the employers' side). Currently, for example, negotiations are underway on the long overdue salary increase in the B-scheme (for university assistants, senior scientists, senior lecturers, lecturers), on the extension of the recognition of pre-employment and on the issue of remote work, i.e. the abolition of the fixed location requirement in the collective agreement for all.
  5. We draft statements on amendments to the University Act (see e.g. https://www.ulv-innsbruck.org/de/content/13012021-stellungnahmen-des-ulv...) or draft laws relevant to university policy (currently e.g. on the planned "TU Linz", e.g. https://www.ulv-innsbruck.org/de/content/ulv-stellungnahme-tu-linz-pl-do...).
  6. We lobby all members of the National Council and the Federal Council for improvements in your work situation, e.g. strongly for the abolition/improvement of the § 109 UG contract problem (“Kettenvertrag”), and much more.

The List ULV is thus your representation of the “Mittelbau” both within the scope of the Senate's tasks and beyond! Many of us are also involved e.g. in the works council, in faculty councils, in curriculum commissions and as study representatives!
