Wofür ist der Senat zuständig - wie ist er zusammengesetzt?

Zu den Aufgaben des Senats (siehe § 25 Universitätsgesetz (UG)) gehören:

• Erlassung und Änderung der Curricula für Studien
• Mitwirkung an Habilitations- und Berufungsverfahren (Beschlussfassung zur
• Besetzung von Kommissionen, deren Besetzung für den Mittelbau an den Fakultäten erfolgt)
• Erlassung von Richtlinien für die Tätigkeit von Kollegialorganen - siehe https://www.uibk.ac.at/senat/rechtliche-grundlagen/
• Zustimmung zum Entwicklungsplan 2025-2030 (und dessen Änderungen) - siehe https://www.uibk.ac.at/de/universitaet/leitung/entwicklungsplan/2025-2030/
• Zustimmung zum Organisationsplan - siehe https://www.uibk.ac.at/zentraler-rechtsdienst/richtlinien-und-verordnungen-des-rektorats/organisationsrecht/organisationsplan.html (und dessen Änderungen)
• Erlassung und Änderung von Satzungsteilen auf Vorschlag des Rektorats - siehe https://www.uibk.ac.at/senat/rechtliche-grundlagen/
• Bestellung von 3 (von 7) Mitgliedern des Universitätsrats (derzeitige Funktionsperiode des Universitätsrats noch bis 29.02.2028)
• Erstellung eines Dreiervorschlags für die Wahl einer Rektorin/eines Rektors (derzeitige Funktionsperiode der Rektorin von 01.03.23-28.02.27) oder
• Beschlussfassung für eine Weiterbestellung der Rektorin/des Rektors für eine weitere Funktionsperiode nach entsprechender Interessenbekundung
   

Der Senat an der Universität Innsbruck besteht aus 26 Mitgliedern:

• 13 Professor*innen
• 6 Vertreter*innen des sog. „Mittelbaus“
• 6 Vertreter*innen der Studierenden
• 1 Person der allgemein Bediensteten

What is the Senate responsible for / Composition of the Senate?

The duties of the Senate (see § 25 of the Universities Act (UG)) include:

• Issuing and amending curricula for degree programs
• Participation in habilitation and appointment procedures (decision-making on the appointments to committees whose appointments are made by the faculties)
• Issuance of guidelines for the activities of collegial bodies - see https://www.uibk.ac.at/senat/rechtliche-grundlagen/
• Approval of the Development Plan ("Entwicklungsplan") 2025-2030 (and its amendments) - see https://www.uibk.ac.at/de/universitaet/leitung/entwicklungsplan/2025-2030/ 
• Approval of the organizational plan - see https://www.uibk.ac.at/zentraler-rechtsdienst/richtlinien-und-verordnungen-des-rektorats/organisationsrecht/organisationsplan.html (and its amendments)
• Issuance and amendment of parts of the statutes at the proposal of the Rectorate - see https://www.uibk.ac.at/senat/rechtliche-grundlagen/
• Appointment of 3 (of 7) members of the University Council (current term of office of the University Council until 29.02.2028)
• Preparation of a three-person proposal for the election of a Rector (current term of office of the Rector from 01.03.23-28.02.27) or
• Resolution on the reappointment of the Rector for a further term following a corresponding expression of interest
